Choose the Massage for You

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massages are used to break up scar tissue and break down muscle adhesions (the “knots” that we feel in our muscles are muscle adhesions, which are bands of rigid and painful muscle tissue). These knots can inhibit our circulation and cause pain and inflammation.

Pre-Event Sports Massage

A pre-event massage is used before activity to prepare the body for exercise. A pre-event massage can be adapted to sporting context or personal preference. A stimulating pre-event massage uses tapotement massage techniques such as hacking, kneading and beating and pounding.

Maintenance Massage

Maintenance massages consists of general recovery massage on the entire body with specific attention to problem areas, concentrating on tight and sore muscles, stiff joints and former injury sites.

Chair Massages

The chair massages is limited to the upper body, however the benefits are similar to full-body table versions and include stress reduction, enhanced circulation, increased physical flexibility, a more vibrant immune system, pain relief, deeper sleep, improved athletic performance, and a brighter mood.

Swedish Massage

The Swedish massage is one of the most common types of massages you can get. It is performed to energize the body and improve overall health. This type of massage involves actions like percussion, kneading, vibration, tapping and rolling. Massage oil or lotion is used to protect the skin from friction.

Post-Event Sports Massage

Post-Event massage is a type of Sports Massage performed after an event or sporting performance to enable a rapid and safe cooling down from the exertion of sport. Post-event massage uses slow, deep, relaxing & cleansing strokes such as: Effleurage, Petrissage, Compression & Connective Tissue Massage (CTM). It’s main purpose is to bring the body back to homeostasis.

Injury Recovery Massage

While the main goal of physical rehabilitation is to increase strength and flexibility, it often ends before the area has been returned to its full pre-injury state. Massage plays an important role as a supplement to standard injury rehabilitation procedures. Focus will be on the injury point and surrounding muscles and to maintain proper form and function.

Trigger Point Massage

The goal of trigger point massage is to locate those active trigger points and encourage them to “calm down.” If your therapist can release the trigger point, your entire muscle will relax and function normally (and you’ll feel so much better).
